Jaroslav Šuchman specialises in the law of contracts, personal data protection, EU law, gaming law, consumer protection, advertising law and other regulatory areas, and advisory law.
Prior to joining Havel & Partners in 2010, Jaroslav received his LL.M. degree at Columbia Law School in New York. Before the post-graduate course, he worked for five years at the Parliament of the Czech Republic as Head of the European Union Unit, Senate Chancellery, where he was instrumental in building mechanisms and providing for the daily parliamentary monitoring of the EU legislative procedure, following the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union, and devising and developing a framework for the interaction between the Senate, the Czech Government and EU institutions. Jaroslav was also jointly responsible for the contents and course of the parliamentary dimension of the Czech Republic’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2009.
