In a world of OMGs and LOLs employers are increasingly required to deal with employment issues involving social media. Whether it is an employee who disparages his or her employer through Twitter or who makes offensive statements about a co-worker on Facebook, employers often struggle with determining the appropriate response to such conduct.
During this seminar, we will review recent employment and labour law decisions to explore the current trends in regards to social media in the workplace. We will also discuss best practices, including the creation of social media policies and other tools, that employers can implement to prevent and/or minimize damage when an issue goes viral on social media.
The seminar will take place at our Toronto offices. Breakfast will be served. If you are unable to attend in person, you can also view the seminar online through Webex.
