Prof. Arkadiusz Sobczyk, legal advisor and Managing Partner at A. Sobczyk & Współpracownicy Law Office, is the Founder of one of the oldest and largest boutique law firms in Poland, which provides labour law services only and which is dedicated exclusively to businesses.
He is a specialist in labour law with broad court and negotiation experience. In his practice, Prof. Sobczyk has participated in many large projects involving negotiation of social packages, collective labour agreements, work rules and regulations, salaries, takeovers of business entities, group layoffs, outsourcing, temporary employment, etc. On a daily basis, he actively assists management boards and HR directors of Polish and international companies with their decision-making processes.
Prior to his legal advisory practice, Prof. Sobczyk served as a court judge for six years. Apart from running his legal practice, he lectures at the Faculty of Labour Law and Social Policy at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and at the Kraków Legal Advisors Chamber, where he sits on the examination committee. He also conducts workshops and training sessions for Judges, legal advisors and HR managers across Poland.
He is one of the most recognized specialists in labour law in the country. For many years now, he has held the highest positions in the national and international rankings as one of the finest specialists in the field. Thanks to many years of representing employers in disputes with trade unions, he now enjoys great respect from the latter, which is very helpful in solving crises.

Having passed a state exam in 1994, Dr. Arkadiusz Sobczyk began his professional career as a Judge of the District Court in Kraków. In time, he was appointed President of one of the Court’s departments. In 1999, he was awarded a Ph.D. degree in the field of labour law. Since 2000, he has practiced as a legal advisor. In 2005, he presented a thesis on working time and was awarded the position of assistant professor. In 2015, the President of the Republic of Poland granted him the title of professor. He is a member of the International Labour Law Association.
The list of publications is long and includes eight books, over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and over 150 publications in legal newspapers. He is a coauthor of one of the most read commentaries to the labour code, the most extensive commentary to the Polish constitution and the sole author of the commentary to the Act on employing temporary employees and the Act on employee councils.
