Ebola and the Workplace: How to Protect Your Workforce

Ebola has become a serious concern worldwide. This current Ebola outbreak is the largest in history and the first real Ebola epidemic. Since the outbreak first began in Africa, there have been thousands of infections around the globe. This outbreak coincides with the introduction of the European Directive 89/391/EEC to improve health and safety at work. Preventing employees from becoming exposed or ill with a virus has turned into a priority for many employers. Therefore, in order to guard against the risk of infection, employers should consider a variety of protective measures, suggested by health organizations such as the WHO and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
